Doctors Worldwide

DWW and Leeds Muslim Medic Event

On the 11th February 2019, Doctors Worldwide was delighted to attend an event run by the Leeds Muslim Medic Society at the University of Leeds on the topic of ‘Medicine and Humanitarianism’. Two of our trustees, Dr Bushera Choudhry and Dr Najeeb Rahman, who are graduates of the University of Leeds themselves, were pleased to return and speak to students about their careers and experiences overseas as well as the skills required for this sort of work.

They focused on their medical work abroad following disasters such as tsunamis, earthquakes and wars, and on humanitarian projects in Kenya, Pakistan and Rwanda.

This was followed by an engaging and productive question and answer session where they answered students’ queries about humanitarian work and qualifications and provided useful resources.

Doctors Worldwide would like to thank those involved in making this event possible and we look forward to speaking to more students in the future.
