20 Million people were affected by the 2010 floods in Pakistan, with over 800,000 homes destroyed and over 1/5th of the country’s land mass under water.
When the floods came in 2010, Doctors Worldwide acted quickly and provided extensive health and nutritional assistance to some of the worst affected areas of Nowshera and Sindh.
Our team on the ground responded in the emergency by treating sick and injured people that were affected by the floods. Doctors Worldwide remained in Pakistan after the immediate emergency and developed a Health Clinic to provide ongoing medical care and nutrition support. The affected areas of Pakistan had barely recovered when the floods of 2011 struck and once again devastated the country and affected millions more people.
