Malawi has some of the worst health indicators in the world. Life expectancy is just 55 years and it is severly affected by HIV/AIDS.
Started in 2016, our quality improvement project is in partnership with a local organisation called Madinah Social Services (“MSS”). Located in Blantyre, they have a number of rural and urban medical centres. They are passionate about providing quality health services to the poor.
Together we planned a review of their prescribing and diagnostic methods along with other processes. A staff training program was implemented and 12 months later, we are measuring a noticeable improvement in quality.
