Doctors Worldwide is pleased to announce its Qurbani 2013 Program for distributing much needed meat in Kenya during the Muslim festival of Eid ul Adha. Each Qurbani share will be £45. The cost has increased from last year due to significant price inflation in Kenya.
Our 2012 program was a success with support from donors enabling us to distribute 3,695kg of fresh meat and 1,995kg of high quality rice to 1,995 households.
Doctors Worldwide is appealing to our friends and supporters to purchase their Qurbani and help those in need. We source all the animals locally to contribute to the region’s economy and support local farmers. The meat is distributed fresh during the days of Eid ul Adha in rural areas of Kwale County, Lamu and Tana River.
Doctors Worldwide is also offering an additional nutrition element to our Qurbani Appeal – it allows your donation to provide extra value to those you are helping. Included in your£45 Qurbani donation, which will provide between 10 – 11 kilograms of meat to at least 5 families, is also 5 kilograms of high quality rice.
We also have a unique feedback system for donors, which will show you via Googlemaps the exact location where your Qurbani took place. Where possible, we will also provide you with access to pictures of your specific animal.
Poverty is a daily part of the lives of the people we help. For many of them, this festival is the only opportunity to eat meat in the year. Your Qurbani donation will enable them join you in the celebration of Eid ul Adha and boost their health.
