October 6th and 7th 2018 saw our Humanitarian Medical Aid course delivered at the Wellcome Collection in London. The course is now in its 12th year and was, as ever, a lively, thought-provoking and enjoyable weekend for both attendees and trainers.
This course was developed by the Doctors Worldwide faculty, based on our own experiences in the development and emergency field, alongside the institutional learning of sending volunteers on overseas placements and the questions and experiences this has evoked. It continues to grow and evolve with changes in international practice, new research, and importantly for us, the feedback and thoughts of previous course attendees.
With a diverse mix of lecture based learning, group work discussions, problem based seminars and question and answer sessions to pick the brains of the trainers, the 2018 course proved to be as popular as ever.
100% found the course fulfilled their learning needs. 95% rated the course as excellent.
These are a few of last years’ participant comments:

The course has also been delivered internationally and we are currently in discussions to bring the course to the United States in 2019.
For the UK, the most likely date for the 2019 course will be a weekend in October – to keep updated, follow us on social media or sign up to our newsletter. Or to register your interest, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
