Pateakah and has established Field Clinic and is currently working with the Pakistan military and ICRC to evacuate patients daily to Muzaffarabad.
DWW had undertaken an ambitious and aggressive immunization project. Our
principle partners are the Pakistan MOH, Unicef and WHO. We have initiated an
immunization program in the Lower Neelum
Valley. Primarily in Pateakah proper and then expanding into the
other parts of the valley. Immunizations given are TT, DTP, OPV, MMR and Vit A.

out-patient facilities in the area designated for the new Balakot city and for a
rural dispensary in a place 40 miles away called Ugi to serve as a referral
point to the hospital as well as primary care facility in itself.
Work has already begun on preparing the sites, soil testing and architectural
plans drawn. The aim will be to have a high calibre institution able to receive
volunteers to help teach in paediatric skills to local medical staff and
institutions. Preliminary talks have already been held to have visiting
Consultant clinics run by specialists from the nearest teaching hospital/medical
school, with agreements for students and newly qualified doctors to come and
work and learn from experienced DWW volunteers at our future hospital.
