Heavy monsoon rains in Northern Pakistan over the last month have resulted in flash floods across large parts of the country.
Chitral district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has been hit hardest with significant damage to both infrastructure and agriculture
Almost 500 homes have been washed away leaving families exposed to the elements. In addition 1,200 acres of standing crops have been damaged, 100s of livestock has perished and a large amount of stored food has been spoiled. Heavy damage has been sustained to roads and bridges, making the delivery of basic aid including food and shelter difficult
