Doctors Worldwide is pleased to announce the launch of it’s 2015 Qurbani Meat Program.

Doctors Worldwide is pleased to announce its Qurbani 2015 Program for distributing much needed meat during the Muslim festival of Eid ul Adha. Now in it’s fourth year, we are offering Pakistan along with Kenya as two host countries where you can have your Qurbani share done. We have secured better prices than 2013 and 2014 and this year:

– In Kenya each share will cost £40.

– In Pakistan, each share is £75.

Our 2014 program was a success with support from donors enabling us to distribute 2,623kg of fresh meat and 1,115 kg of high quality rice. This benefited approximately 5,000 adults and children who were identified as widows, orphans, the elderly and needy.

This year, the meat will be distributed to neighbors and residents surrounding our two primary healthcare and maternity centres in Kenya, (DWW Mualafatul Qulub, near Malindi) and Pakistan, (DWW Junejo, Shadadkhot). Our presence in these areas give us a deep understanding of who best to help.

Pakistan is a lot more expensive than Kenya but differences in animal sizes means that your Qurbani share in Pakistan is expected to yield around 23kg of fresh meat, more than double the 9-10kg we expect in Kenya.  More meat means feeding more beneficiaries. The Qurbani animal will be a cow.

Doctors Worldwide is also offering an additional nutrition element to our Qurbani Appeal – it allows your donation to provide extra value to those you are helping. Included in your purchase is also  3 kilograms of high quality rice.

Doctors Worldwide is appealing to our friends and supporters to purchase their Qurbani and help those in need. We source all the animals locally to contribute to the region’s economy and support local farmers. The meat is distributed fresh during the days of Eid ul Adha.

We also have a unique feedback system for donors, which will show you via Googlemaps the exact location where your Qurbani took place and the amount of meat produced. Where possible, we will also provide you with access to pictures of your specific animal.

Poverty is a daily part of the lives of the people we help. For many of them, this festival is the only opportunity to eat meat in the year. Your Qurbani purchase will enable them join you in the celebration of Eid ul Adha and boost their health.
