Shazaad is a registrar in Infectious Diseases and Virology in the NW Deanery. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Nottingham and has a Masters in Tropical Medicine and International Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Shazaad’s main interests in international health are developmental work and capacity building.

Khalil became Chief Executive of DWW in May 2011 but has been involved with DWW since 2005. He spent over 10 years in investment banking as a mergers and acquisitions specialist before moving into the charity and social housing sector. He has an MSc from UCL in Urban Regeneration & Development and furthered his academic interests through a Research Fellowship and postgraduate teaching. He has operated at senior board level, most recently as Director of Finance & ICT for a leading regional homelessness charity and is a board member of Action for Blind People, a leading visual impairment charity and non-executive director with social housing charities in the UK.

Ibrar is the current chairman of DWW and works as a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital with a specialist interest in Paediatric Major Trauma and Limb Reconstruction. He has been working in the charity sector in the UK for over ten years in various roles, and has acted as a trustee for local, national and international charities. He has extensive experience of working in both developmental and emergency healthcare programmes in sub Saharan Africa and South East Asia. Ibrar is an alumnus of an NHS Clinical Leadership Fellow scheme and has worked on several programmes related to healthcare leadership and service delivery. He regularly runs workshops and seminars on personal development, self awareness and leadership both nationally and internationally. He holds a PGDip in Healthcare Policy and Management from the Health Service Management Centre, University of Birmingham, and is a fully certified MBTI practitioner.

Saddaf was the first UK Chairman of DWW and has represented the charity at conferences in the U.S.A., Bosnia and South Africa and has attended projects in Pakistan and Congo. He is a Manchester graduate, working as a Family Practitioner in Oldham in North West England since 1997 having previously trained as a surgeon from leaving medical school. Married with four kids he spends as much time ferrying his kids around as working on Doctors Worldwide!

Dr Najeeb Rahman works as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine. He has a Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance as well as a Diploma in Public Health. Having studied and trained in the UK, he spent a year supporting the delivery of a novel Emergency Medicine training programme in addition to Emergency Service development in Rwanda. He is the former Chair of Doctors Worldwide, and has more than 10 years of field experience in both disaster relief efforts as well as health development programmes in more than 10 countries.
